NFH carries out several special programmes directed at less privileged groups. One is a programme of free medical service to the residents of the Home for the Elderly in Awkunanaw (Enugu). The Home for the Elderly is run by a religious community - The Little Sisters of the Poor. Two of the hospital’s doctors make regular visits to attend to residents that are sick and in need of healthcare. A programme central to NFH is a Rural Health Development Centre located at Aguobu Iwollo.
