New Mother and Child Centre in NFH

NFH has launched the Mother and Child Centre- the 4th phase of development of the Hospital. The Centre will focus on improving the maternal and paediatric care delivered at the hospital. The centre was made possible with support from Harambee

A good number of things make a good hospital. Over time experience has shown that anyone who walks into any hospital generally expects a satisfactory service delivery, an effective treatment plan and an accurate record keeping on the part of the hospital. Of course, in a fast paced tech-world, services are better rendered when institutions are conversant with modern health facilities and technology.

On that note, NFH has fulfilled the bright idea of upgrading and expanding certain parts of its structure. Beyond aesthetics, the aim was to perfect the efficiency of services. With the launch of the new section, NFH is proud to say that so far, the above-mentioned aim has not been defeated. The new section which embodies a new Emergency Department(ED), a Children’s Ward and a state of the art Delivery Room has brought the vision to life

The newly erected and improved ER section has been of great advantage to the hospital. It serves as a practical proof of the hospital’s staunch signature of an open door policy to all as far as healthcare is concerned. The adequately equipped ER has further guaranteed a 24/7 uncompromised healthcare cum essential services.

The Emergency Department is a crucial section of any hospital. Bearing that in mind, NFH set out to address the limitations witnessed while using the old ER. As the client-base of the hospital grew so also did the ER face challenges of overcrowding; a situation that equally affected other-related sections such as the Out-Patient Department (OPD). Currently, the new ER has helped to tackle the challenge.

As against a couple of couches, the new ER located at the ground floor has upgraded to a well-designed, conducive and spacious five-bedded quality facility with standard conveniences. The structure is stocked and equipped with basic first aid materials and resuscitating equipment respectively. More so, there is a competent health team of doctors, nurses and clinical assistants who cover emergency cases 24 hours of the day.

The latest expansion has indeed helped to make emergency services in the hospital worth the while. Regardless of the many patients the hospital attends to on daily basis, patients whose cases demand immediate attention are now guaranteed of timely and adequate healthcare.

Making a shift to another component of the new section is the current ultra-modern Delivery section. From the first stage room (where expectant mothers are prepared before delivery) to the delivery room proper, the newly acquired structure, furnished with the state of the art facilities has been found to conveniently suit the complexities of child delivery. Coupled with the expertise of our doctors and nurses, child delivery at NFH has taken a leap for the better.

The third part of the new section is the Children’s Ward. Here we have an out rightly conducive environment for both children and their care givers. The colourfully decorated ward was designed with the psychology and comfort of children in mind.

Like the ER, the new Children’s Ward is spacious and gives a near home experience to the admitted patients. Typically, the ward is recommended for zero to teen ages. Same applies here at NFH. A worthy accompaniment for the new and improved section is the services of qualified and highly sought paediatricians.

Besides the three major sections, there are also new private wards located on the first and second floors. These have fundamentally created more room to accommodate more patients on admission.

Without a doubt the expansion of the hospital has improved our services. It has helped us meet customer expectations and ensured their satisfaction in terms of essential healthcare service delivery.
